Letterbox Adventure

The Goal

Six containers are hidden in a one-mile radius around St. Anthony Park Elementary School. Inside each letterbox is an ink pad with a stamp numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6.  Your task is to find all six boxes and collect the ink stamps with numbers 1-6 on a piece of paper or in a notebook.

Take a photo and submit to president@sapsamn.org for recognition in our weekly SAPSA newsletter, Wolf Pack Wednesdays!

At the start of your adventure, you will be able to pick up a self-inking stamp of your own so you can mark the log books in each letterbox with your name and personal stamp! Who will be the first? Who found the box just before you? You’ll have to find a letterbox to find out.

For this adventure, you will need a few things:

  1. A piece of paper or notebook for collecting ink stamps.

  2. A computer, iPad or smartphone so you can use the Google map set up for this. Click here to go to the map.

  3. A personal self-inking stamp of your own to make your mark in the log books inside each letterbox. These are available in a plastic container at the bench at the front door of the school. Please (pretty please!) one stamp per child. We are only making 25 available at a time, so please email president@sapsamn.org if the number of stamps is low so we can add more. The stamp is yours to keep. And, of course, you are welcome to use your own stamp if you have one.

How to play:

  1. Get an adult to play with you or ask for their permission to play. This will depend on your age and your family’s rules.

  2. Pick up a personal stamp at SAP Elementary School. See instructions above.

  3. Get a notebook or piece of paper that you can dedicate to the project. We have a few pieces of sturdy card stock tucked in with the personal stamps at school if you would like to use that.

  4. Go to this Google Map and follow the clues to find letterboxes.

  5. When you find one, you will do two things:

    1. Log your name and the date/time you found the letterbox in the log book. Use your personal stamp to make a mark by your name. You can also leave a little note to other adventurers at this time.

    2. Use the ink pad and stamp in each box to mark your peronal paper or notebook.

  6. Put everything back in the box, seal it tight and put it back exactly as you found it.

  7. Find all six boxes.

  8. When you are done, you can submit a photo of your completed stamp sheet to president@sapsamn.org and we will recognize you in our weekly newsletter.
