The last week has been a whirlwind as we all adjust to fresh routines, meet our new teachers, and reconnect with the SAP community! With the new year, our wonderful publisher Joel Van Valin has completed his stint in the Communications position at SAPSA. This week, Joel generously shared his wisdom and advice to help me transition into the role. Thanks so much to Joel for all his work over the last few years!

Enjoy coffee and bring a pastry to share! Takes place outside the school or in the lunchroom, depending on weather.

Fall Festival
The Fall Festival will be Friday, October 9, 5 - 7 pm at the school. This is a major SAP Elementary fundraiser and also loads of fun! The festival includes games, food, a pumpkin run, and a haunted house. Don't miss it!
Fall Festival Needs Your Help!
In order for the Fall Festival to occur this year, we need volunteers for a variety of roles. Consider whether you can contribute in any of the following ways:

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
As we all adjust to our new schedules, please review our drop-off and pick-up procedures.
Please be PATIENT and KIND.
Vehicle drop-off and pick-up on Knapp St. (north side of building)
Buses only on Gordon Ave (south side of school building)
When dropping your child off in a vehicle, STAY IN YOUR CAR. No stopping or parking on Knapp St.
Enter to drop off or pick up at Blake and Raymond. Drive around the park and get in line. After school, wait in line, pull to the curb, and staff will bring your child to you.
NO VISITORS allowed on basketball court and blacktop area.
DROP OFF BETWEEN 7:15 - 7:30. Students may not enter school earlier.
ARRIVE FOR PICK UP BETWEEN 2:00 - 2:10. Do not arrive before 2:00!!!

Host a Great Gathering
This year, we are bringing back Great Gatherings during Fall Festival on October 9th!
Great Gatherings are fundraising events hosted by families, staff, and other community
members. Hosts will plan an event, and SAPSA will sell tickets to the community.
Past Great Gatherings have included: pizza parties, art projects (for kids or adults), fancy dinners, wine tastings, yoga classes, backyard movies or bonfires, Amazing Race inspired contests, pool parties, ice skating and hot cocoa, and parents’ night out.
Do you have a skill that you could teach? Are you a great cook? Do you knit or sew? Do you throw a great party (kid or adult)? The only limit is your imagination! You decide the amount of tickets, allowable ages, location, time and date, and activity. Feel free to team up with a friend to host!
This is a wonderful fundraiser that not only raises money for SAPSA, but also builds community!
If hosting isn't up your alley, you’ll be able to purchase tickets to Great Gatherings at the Fall Festival on Friday, October 9th! The events happen throughout the year and are so much fun for the whole family.

School Directory
The St. Anthony Park Elementary School Directory is the main resource for student and teacher contact information. It includes class and staff lists, as well as SAPSA, Advisory Council and district contact information. Thanks to Lea Chittenden for organizing the directory again this year!
There's still time to get your info into the School Directory for the 2026-27 school year. It will look somewhat like last year's directory, shown to the left.
Every family will receive a copy. You are not required to submit your contact information for the directory, but we encourage you to do so!

Fall Bulb Sale
A SAPSA fundraiser is already underway! It is the Fall Bulb Sale, where you can buy alliums, daffodils, and tulips, tulips, tulips to plant in your flower garden this fall. Chroma Zone Mural Festival
Chroma Zone Mural Festival Returns to the Creative Enterprise Zone!
Get ready, Wolf Pack families — ChromaZone Mural Festival returns September 17–19, right in our own neighborhood!
Artists are already at work painting murals all over the industrial zone of South St. Anthony Park this week — keep an eye out as you walk or drive through! For one of this year's biggest new murals, walk across the Raymond Avenue bridge heading south and look to your left — you won't miss it.
Thursday: Artist Panel Discussion at Bang Brewing @ 6:30
Friday–Saturday: Live mural painting continues at the Twin Cities Reptile Center — watch a wall go from blank to vibrant art in real time
Saturday, 12–5 PM: ChromaZone Block Party at Raymond and Territorial (upper lot next to Terra Firma) — a full afternoon of neighborhood fun with a DJ, hands-on art activities for all ages, chalk artists turning the pavement into their own canvas, and food trucks to keep you fueled. Bike tours depart 10:30 AM from the Baker Court building lot, or hop on a bus tour to see murals across the district.
Saturday evening: Closing celebration at Dual Citizen Brewing

New Spirit Wear!
We have a new t-shirt design this year for Spirit Wear (thank you Allie Rykken!). Buy a t-shirt for you, your kids, or other loved ones at the Fall Festival and other SAPSA fundraisers. Sales of the shirts support SAPSA, and are just plain hip to wear!
