Running Club

Every spring St. Anthony Park elementary school hosts a running club for 1st - 5th grade students. Last over 200 students were members of running club!!!

The club meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning April 24th and trains to run a one-mile race.  The last day of running club, May 13th is RACE DAY!  All are welcome to cheer on our runners at the race.

The fastest 15 girls and 15 boys will each receive medals! Every racer earns a finishers t-shirt for participating in the race.

Please email Ms. Paulsen (karen.paulsen@spps.org) if you have time to help set up on practice days.  Set up takes about 10-15 minutes before practice starts at 2pm.

Silent Auction

Step right up!  Step right up!  The SAP Elementary online auction is live now and ends on Friday April 25. Get your online bids in to score the most amazing gift cards, products, and experiences.

Go to https://www.32auctions.com/SAP2025 to find some great deals.  Every penny spent goes to fund initiatives at the school supported by SAPSA!

Dexter's Corner

Hello! It's me, Dexter Jr., the guinea pig who lives in Ms. Wilson's science classroom!

I just wanted to say how much I love seeing my students every day. Also, I love my veg! I particularly love to eat carrots and cucumbers from the lunch room. Ms. Wilson tells me I make the best squeaking noises when I know it's lunchtime!

Also, I have a new best friend now—and he is a wolf! His name is Frost and he actually got to be principal for a day, because I guess my students spent a lot of time reading books about guinea pigs ... and other things. Books are great, but personally I prefer nibbling timothy hay. Anyway, when Frost commanded an extra recess that day ... actually that was my idea!

Oh, I did want to mention one more thing, and it's important. And that is: SUMMER VACATION!

Over the summer, my school will be closed, and so I'll need some families to host me and my cage. If you would like to be one of those happy families and host me for a while over the summer, or have any questions about me possibly being your guest, please email my wonderful human Ms. Wilson at jodie.wilson@spps.org.

See you in science class!

Spring Carnival

The trees are budding, which means spring is here!  Spring carnival is just around the corner on May 9th from 5-7:30 pm.  This is a major fundraising event  featuring a dunk tank, food for purchase, carnival games, face paint, karaoke, a bouncy house, bake sale, and oodles of FUN!

We need around 150 volunteers to make this event a success: serving food, facilitating games, painting faces, taking tickets, operating the bounce house, and supervising the dunk tank.  Your children are welcome to help you volunteer.   Sign up here to claim your spot!

See you at the carnival!

Food and Bake Sale

Got a big cooler or grill to spare? We need you!

Hey awesome students and families!  If you have a large cooler (the kind that can chill a bunch of drinks!), or a grill (the kind that turns hot dogs into magic!), we'd love to borrow it for the big carnival! If you can lend either of these items, please reach out to Laura and Andy Gillott by Friday, May 2 (laura.a.gillott@gmail.com, 651.279.3060)

Talent Show

We think YOU have talent!!!

It’s that time of year! Talent Show time! All SAP Elementary students are invited and encouraged to participate in this community-building event on...

FRIDAY, May 16th at 6:00 p.m. at Murray Middle School

All types of talent are needed: poetry reading, jokes, juggling, singing, instrument-playing, dancing, jump rope, hula-hooping, yo-yo-ing, magic, and ON and ON. For a list of what is NOT acceptable (including guidance around song choices), please visit: https://saptalentshow.wixsite.com/saptalentshow

Students wishing to participate MUST complete the online registration before their audition day no later than May 5th. Friendly, non-competitive auditions are held DURING SCHOOL May 5th-9th. There are no “makeup” auditions.

We are looking for volunteers to coordinate with Kelly Weeks, who is graciously taking the lead in making this year's talent show an entertaining and memorable event. Follow the link HERE to volunteer.

Questions? Email saptalentshow@gmail.com

Wanted: SAPSA Photographer

SAPSA is looking for an SAP Elementary parent or other community member to be our staff photographer. The photographer would attend school events (like the Spring Carnival) and take photos to be used in the Wolf Pack Press, SPPS website, school yearbook, and more.

If you have a knack for photography and would like to volunteer some of your valuable time, please contact Joel Van Valin at communications@sapsamn.org.

Library Helper

Mr. Watson, our Library and Materials Management EA, would greatly appreciate help with reshelving books. Hour-long time slots are available most days of the week.

To sign up as a library helper, click HERE.

Spirit Wear

Rep your favorite elementary school! T-shirts ($20/kid, and $22/adult) and school signs ($10) are available for pre-order now. Email president@sapsamn.org for preorders. Or, look for in-person sales at school events.

Have a great week, Wolf Pack!
