Wolf Pack Press - November 30, 2022

Updated: Dec 2, 2022

Greetings, Wolf Pack! We hope you're staying safe and cozy (when possible) and enjoying the snow. It sure seems to have energized the bundled up kids playing on the playground at school!

Thanks to everyone who supported our school on Give to the Max Day! SAPSA supports SO many activities at the school - from supplies for day-to-day operations to special events - and we really do rely on your generosity. If you missed Give to the Max Day, there are plenty of other fundraisers and events coming up throughout the year! Please be generous, if you are able, so we can support all of our kids. See below for an update from our treasurer, Breanna Mueller.

Our snowy school was quiet and peaceful as snow tapered off late Tuesday afternoon

Eat in, drive through, curbside, or pick up!

DEXTER'S CORNER______________

Hi, SAP families! I can't go to Portillo's, but someone please bring me back a Garden Dog! They contain so many different vegetables! I'll just be in the science room, munching on these carrots until then...

Love, Dexter Jr.

Lost & Found - New Policy

The Lost & Found has quickly filled with winter gear and other items. We know how hard it is to keep track of your students' things! Please label items whenever possible and try to track down lost things in a timely manner. To prevent the Lost & Found from getting overfilled and unmanageable, we may start emptying it at the end of each month, as needed, starting at the end of December. Therefore, please make every effort to retrieve items from the Lost & Found before winter break.

Seasonal Treasurer's Update

From Treasurer Breanna Mueller

It was phenomenal to see so many families show up for fun, games, food, and scares at the Fall Festival this year! While Fall Festival is a fabulous way to socialize with family and friends, it's also a way for us to financially support initiatives at SAP like artist programs, library books, science nights, and classroom supplies. Due to your support, Fall fundraising brought in $3,722.

Here's the breakdown: Ticket sales: $2,340

Fall Bulb sale: $851

Spirit wear sales at Fall Festival: $531

Total: $3,722. Additionally, Book Fair sales brought in $4,705 in Scholastic Dollar profits to be used for Read-A-Thon prizes, for stocking classroom libraries, and for classroom supplies.

Every Meal is a wonderful, free weekend food program!

Our school has far fewer students enrolled in Every Meal this year than we did last year. It's hard to imagine that fewer people have a need for this program, so we're trying to spread the word! Please don't hesitate to sign up if your family could use some extra food on weekends. A bag of shelf-stable food will be quietly placed in your child's backpack on the last day of every week. There's even a way to indicate your food preferences! Please contact Mr. Edwards if you have questions about the program: errol.edwards@spps.org

Otherwise, you can learn more and sign up online. Information is available in English, Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Karen, Arabic, Amharic, and Pashto. Use the links below to find out more or to enroll.
