Wolf Pack Press - September 14

Greetings from SAPSA, the Saint Anthony Park School Association. We hope that your families are adjusting to fall routines and that your children are enjoying being together in school. It is a joy to see them in the school building!

As we "return to normal," we can also consider the lessons we learned from the challenges of the past couple of years. This is an exciting time to reimagine the future. As the parent/guardian organization that supports St. Anthony Park Elementary, SAPSA relies on our community's ideas and involvement. We welcome you to join us! There are so many ways - large and small - to get involved! Attend a SAPSA meeting or reach out to a board member. Thanks to everyone who attended our first meeting of the year last night.

Whether you can take on leadership of one of our school's amazing events or more briefly provide some of the many hands that make light work, we appreciate you! The Wolf Pack Press will highlight many different ways to get involved throughout the year.

We still need to fill two SAPSA board positions:

- Volunteer Coordinator: This position primarily involves making volunteer sign up pages online and relaying that information to event coordinators in a timely manner. It's a great way to connect with other families.

- Co-Treasurer: From payments to budgets, SAPSA has many financial functions that are key to making things happen in our school community. Join co-treasurer Breanna Mueller in this important job.

If you are potentially interested in either of these SAPSA board positions, please contact Amy Raddatz at president@sapsamn.org to learn more!

For questions or comments about anything included in the Wolf Pack Press, please feel free to reach out to the SAPSA Communications Team at communications@sapsamn.org, and we'll do our best to help you find the answer.

School Directory

The St. Anthony Park Elementary School Directory is the main resource for student and teacher contact information. It includes class and staff lists, as well as SAPSA, Advisory Council, and district information. Every family will receive a copy, whether or not they include their own information.

You are not required to submit your contact information for the directory, but we encourage you to do so! It’s a great way for the kids to connect with classmates and friends. You may include as much or as little information as you choose.

If you haven't already done so, you can complete the form online HERE.

PLEASE FILL OUT ONLY ONE FORM (PAPER OR ELECTRONIC) PER CHILD BY SEPTEMBER 30.

Additionally, the Minnesota Department of Health's 'Vaccine Finder' website contains helpful information about COVID, flu, and other vaccination sites HERE.

Dexter's Corner __________

Hello, everyone! Allow me to introduce myself, in case you don’t already know me. I’m Dexter Junior, the friendly guinea pig in Mr. Schrankler’s awesome science classroom! This year I’ve been asked to write an occasional column for the Wolf Pack Press.

Fun Fact - Did you know that we guinea pigs can see above and behind ourselves due to the unique shape of our heads? Our range of vision is almost 340 degrees! So get ready for a unique perspective, and lots of opinions about hay (delicious!). Here’s a photo of me relaxing on summer vacation, but I’m happy to see you all now that we’re back at school!

What's for lunch next week?

The lunch menu looks a little different this year than it did last year. What's going on?

As pandemic protocols ease, there have been some changes. For instance, students are again able to serve themselves what they'd like from the many healthy choices at the 'Infinity Station.' Yum!

Wishing you a wonderful week, Wolf Pack!
